FLY FISHING RODGERS LAKE MONTANA WITH BIGFORK ANGLERS FLY SHOP
Located about 30 minutes west of Kalispell Montana, Rogers Lake is a 237 acre lake with a healthy population of grayling and some westslope cutthroat. Grayling are very unique and Montana is one of the few places in the lower 48 where a fly angler can find them. Rogers is a scenic lake with little development and provides a quite mountain setting. We primarily use this lake as an alternative during high water but it is also great for beginners due to the ease of the catch. Bald eagles, osprey, and loons are some of the common wildlife for your viewing pleasure. We use drift boats or small motor boats to cover the lake.
Rogers Lake is not very deep so most of our fishing is done with dry lines. Nymphs and dry flies are the primary patterns used and prolific hatches of callibaetis mayflies can make the dry fly action very good. You can expect fish from 10 -16" but we often catch multiple grayling over 16" in a day.
